“I am the void that swallows the sun. I am the death of hope. I am the end of all things and the eternal lord of what lies beyond.”

—written on flayed skin hanging from a tree beyond the razed village of Ainat

The Plague of Undeath is a recurring nightmare for the Known Lands. Centuries after the Necromancer Lord was destroyed, scholars, priests, and even eccentric nobles have found themselves in possession of tomes penned in blood. Empowered and driven insane by the eldritch knowledge, these would-be necromancers unleash terror upon the world around them.

Being already dead, the units of the Undead army know no fear and will never rout from combat. Aspiring necromancers have not only regular Zombies and Skeletons at their disposal, but also Zombie Trolls and Skeleton Trolls.

In addition they have Skeleton Cavalry and Ghoul Packs to race across the battlefield or a zombiefied Giant Catapult to pelt the enemy with boulders. Yes, that is a catapult made of the upper half of a dead giant! All these units can be fortified by a necromancer’s power, Reanimating broken bodies and fallen enemies to fight again.

The Undead is a faction for a player who wants a very forgiving army with an offense-oriented focus. Although, the Undead will surprise you with its variety, able to field fast and nimble armies to complement the traditional hammer-and-anvil tactics that it does so well.
