Most of our scheduled events are currently held at gaming conventions. Our most common event is the "win the game" tournament where we teach two people (4-5 for Succession) how to play, open up a copy of the game (a Starter for Battleground) and have them play. The winner keeps the game they were playing with.
If you're hosting or attending a convention that we're not going to and you'd like to do demos or run some "win the game" events, please email us.
We'll be at the following conventions over the coming months:
Pi-Con: August 11, Springfield, MA
Pi-Con is a gaming and sci-fi convention near our home base. Darwin will be there Saturday, demoing and running "win the game" events. You can also see the final mockups for Hill 218 which we've just sent to the printers!
GenCon: August 16-19, Indianapolis, IN
We launched Your Move Games at GenCon Indy in 2004 (with Succession and Space Station Assault) and launched Battleground there in 2005. GenCon rocks, and we'll be running all sorts of events there, including "Win the Game" and a Sword tournament.
ConQuest San Francisco: August 31-September 3, San Francisco, CA
I went out to ConQuest last year and wanted to return but couldn't make it. Fortunately, our good friend Kent Reuber has volunteered to teach Succession and Battleground and will be running some "win the game" events in each! Gooooo Ken!
Where we've been! Here are the recent conventions we've been to recently (in case you're curious or want to know where we're likely to be next year):
Total Confusion convention: February 23-25, Mansfield, MA
I-CON: March 23-25, Long Island, NY
This was a last-minute addition to our convention schedule, but we're likely to return next year.
GAMA Trade Show: April 23-26, Las Vegas, Baby!
This was a great show, and it was cool to see the great response we got from retailers, both to our new factions and to our upcoming scenario book and terrain pack.
KublaCon: May 25-28, San Francisco, CA
Chad was there, demoing games and running "win the game" events. As always it was an extremely well-run show, and hanging out with the guys from Endgame and Game Kastle was extra fun.
Geekway to the West: June 16-17, St. Louis, MO
Our good friend Jay Little (ynnen on BoardGameGeek) runs this St. Louis convention and we're proud to be one of his sponsors, even if we can't get out there ourselves. Jay ran some "win the game" events with all three of our games.
Origins: July 5-8, Columbus, OH
We dropped the ball on events this time around, but still had a good show with a bunch of new Battleground players. Now we're fired up to run a ton of great events at GenCon
