Your Move Games, Inc. was founded in 2004 by Robert Dougherty and Chad Ellis.

Robert began the Your Move Games story in 1994 when he opened his first hobby game retail shop in Somerville, MA. The players at Your Move Games formed one of the first great teams of Magic and the store remains a place where even the “bad” drafters are good.

It was at the Somerville store where our two heroes met, back when Chad was horrible at Magic. He came to play at the store between classes at business school and joined the mighty Your Move Games team, fighting alongside Robert, Darwin Kastle and the hated David Humpherys.  Robert and Darwin would later be inducted into the Pro Tour Hall of Fame, while Chad would be known primarily as a strategy author and sidekick to his betters.

Robert and Chad realized years later that they shared the same dream -- to make, produce and sell their own games. Robert was already one of the largest event organizers in the country and had retail experience; Chad had a Harvard MBA and had helped lead a number of small companies. It was a natural fit, supported by years of friendship and strong trust.

Their geekiness knows few bounds.  Robert and Chad each got married in costume. Robert’s Star Trek wedding was held on the bridge of the Enterprise at the Star Trek Experience in Las Vegas. Chad’s medieval wedding was held in Old Montreal, complete with armored knights and medieval musicians.

Robert has three sons; Chad has two daughters.
